Description
– Ceylon OP1 (Orange Pekoe) Black Tea – Highgrown –
Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea Highgrown – black tea in orange pekoe first flush quality. Comes from Sri Lankan highgrown plantations of Dimbula region. Cultivated over 2000m above sea level and exposed to extreme weather conditions from Monsoon winds in late summer to frosts of January, which result in unique character of this tea. It is regarded by connoisseurs as one of the best Ceylon teas, however serves perfectly as everyday tea.
The brew is aromatic but delicate, with fruity and zesty aftertastes. Colour of a brew recalls a dark amber or copper. The orange pekoe grade makes the back pallet of flavours wider than in lower grades, still keeping it intense enough in overall strength.
Because of its bouquet Ceylon tea tastes marvellous with a drop of honey or fruit syrup.
Brewing:
– use water just after boiling and 1 tsp of tea per cup.
– leave to infuse for 2-3 min. (stimulates),
or
– 4-5 min. (relaxes)
– separate the leaves from the infusion.
